  BladeSystem and Citrix Xen Server

Citrix Xen Server is a high performance virtualisation solution designed for efficient support of Windows and Linux virtual machines. HP has tightly integrated Citrix Xen Server into ProLiant platforms to enable fast and straightforward installation, configuration, and virtual machine management. HP integrated Citrix Xen Server combines seamless integration and active ProLiant management to ensure confident virtual deployments. 

Virtualisation technology is a thin software layer (called a hypervisor) that runs directly on the hardware, creating an abstraction layer that allows each physical server to run multiple 'virtual servers' at the same time. The versatility that virtualisation technology brings to the data center is now combined within ProLiant platforms to provide unprecedented simplicity and speed to virtual deployment.
